Data scientist | Bioinformatician

Requirements:

  • MS/PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics (including Biostatistics), Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related fields
  • 4+ years of experience in data science and machine learning in an academic or industrial environment
  • Biology background/experience with RNA/DNA data
  • Experience working with molecular data, disease modelling and biomarker discovery
  • Mastery of statistical methods, supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms
  • Excellent coding skills: Python, SQL, R is a plus
  • Visualization and exploratory analysis of very large datasets
  • Ability to setup automated data analysis pipelines and transfer these to others
  • Evaluation and implementation of new data analysis approaches, genomic technologies, and improvement of existing procedures
  • Supporting optimization of current tests and translating existing signatures in different sources of data
  • Ability to turn the insights and conclusions from a variety of analyses into effective verbal and graphical communications, including to senior management and to our customers
  • Effective collaboration with our team of experts in systems biology, clinical domains, drug screening applications, and the ability to draw on scientific literature for guidance
  • Ability to pay close attention to details when analysing the data
  • Able to deliver with quality, within time and available budgets
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced scale-up environment
  • Experience in working in a Contract Research Organisation (CRO) is a plus
